The annual day on the farm for third graders in Franklin county school was today at Sylvester Farms. it is the 30th year for the event, held to educate young people about where their food comes from and the technology involved. Coordinator Shawn Turner says kids today, and even their parents are far removed from farm life and one question he got proves the need for farm education.
450 third graders were expected this year. The kids learned about many things farm related, from conservation methods to using drones, to milking a cow.
