With the completion of legacy square in downtown Ottawa, a lot of people forget that it was not a city project. The Ottawa Chamber of Commerce took the lead on the project and did all the fundraising other things that led to the renovation. At today’s city commission study session, a memorandum of understanding between the city and the chamber will be adapted that allows the chamber the authority to schedule events at the venue.
Also on the agenda is a grant to provide lighting to the taxi way at the airport, and a discussion of the needs of the electric fund and how much the rate will increase in the future, and an update for requests for proposals for downtown economic development.
