There seems to be a sharp upsurge in the number of people illegally occupying unsafe houses in Ottawa. Community development director Wyndee Lee told the city commission this year is especially bad.
The city commission is expected to adopt an ordinance spelling out more penalties for illegal occupation of buildings.
