The Franklin County Health Department, in conjunction with safe kids Kansas wants to make sure your child is safely, securely, and properly restrained in your car. This week is National Child Passenger Safety Week and the Health Department is holding a car seat safety check run by certified child safety passenger technicians. Technician Miranda Gillespie says the manual to the seat is very important, but, most people don’t even bother reading it.

She added that they are trying to have a safety check every two months and that the one held at Walmart on safety day was very well attended. A free car seat safety check happened will be held from 9 to noon this morning at Franklin County annex parking lot.
