A U.S. soldier has been arrested for allegedly talking to a confidential FBI source about committing an act of terror. Jarrett William Smith who is stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas was taken into custody Saturday after authorities learned of plans to put a hit on a presidential candidate and target a media outlet.
The FBI says Smith targeted CNN and Democratic Presidential candidate Beto O’rourke.
