The Hillsdale Lake Project originally scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed due to the threat of bad weather. It has been rescheduled for next Saturday, October 5th. They are encouraging everyone to connect to nature through service in an effort to repair flood damage at the park. They are looking for volunteers, donations, and sponsors. The goal is to host 500 volunteers who are willing to provide a day of work to assist cleaning and repairing areas impacted by the flood. One task will be to replace the gravel at the campsites. They already have a dump truck and backhoe donated to help with the cause.

Also, amount of trash and debris that the water brought onto land was enormous, along with driftwood and dead trees, and it all needs to be cleaned up. There are also plenty of things kids can do, like spread grass seed and help with cleaning up playgrounds. This huge effort is all part of National Public Lands Day.

All the fun starts next Saturday at 8:30 at the Corps of Engineers Shelter House. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
