The Paola Pathways Trail System is now complete! More than 13 miles of trails and bike paths all through the area offer an off road option for both walkers and cyclists. The final section around Lake Miola was recently completed on the East side of the lake. According to the Miami County Republic, community outreach coordinator Peg Weiland, it’s taken 5 years for phase two of the system to complete. Signage was recently installed at the Six Trailheads, providing users with maps, descriptions and mileage on the trail, along with trail rules and etiquette and a donner list.
The Paola Pathways Task Force is celebrating 8 years together and the completion of Lake Miola Trail by hosting a Paola Chamber of Commerce Coffee at 10 Friday morning at the Pirate Ship Trailhead on the West side of the lake near the campgrounds. The public is encouraged to attend and enjoy and explore the trail system.
