Two people were seriously injured in an accident about 12 miles South of Garnett yesterday afternoon at about 3. The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, EMS, and Rural Fire responded to the scene at the intersection of 700 Road and Mayland Road. Thomas McWilliams, of Kansas City, was Southbound on Maryland Road when he collided with Joanna Womelsdorf, of Colony, who was Westbound on 700 Road. Womeldorf and a passenger in her vehicle, Naomi Martin, of Stockton were transported to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries. The accident is still under investigation by the Anderson County Sheriff’s Department.
