Kansas is becoming an earthquake hotbed! Geologists recorded 11 earthquakes in about 24 hours in the same Northern Kansas County over the weekend. Data from the Kansas Geological Survey shows the cluster of quakes struck North and East of Randall, in Jewell County, on Saturday and Sunday. The Wichita Eagle reports that four of the 11 quakes had a magnitude of at least 3. The strongest quake, which struck Sunday morning, registered a magnitude of 3.5.
The quakes come after a series of tremblers that jostled people out of bed in the early morning hours a couple weeks ago. The quakes in Chase County measured 3P on the Richter Scale.
