When the decision was made last Saturday to cancel the Cornstock Music Festival due to heavy rain and thunderstorms, it was more than just concert goers that suffered. All the food and merchandise vendors and businesses in the community also took a financial hit. Organizers say a year’s worth of work was washed away when the decision was made to cancel. Many ticket holders were asking about refunds, however, there is a disclaimer printed on the ticker stating there will be no refunds. Concert officials say the bands, as part of their contract, had to be paid regardless if they took the stage or not.

Rescheduling won’t be easy. The Cornstock board is working feverishly on coming up with an alternative date. Rescheduling is not guaranteed and they have said they will have information out as soon as possible.
