You know when you were a kid and you found a fossil for the first time? You know you might still have some. Some people never grow out of that phase and are fascinated with fossils all their lives. Some hunt the big ones, full size fish, maybe even T-rex skulls. Allan Dietrich is one of those guys. He will be the guest speaker today at the first Friday forum.
The public is welcome to attend and learn how Dietrich helped Kansas gain the official state fossil and of his other exploit in dinosaur hunting including finding a T-rex skull. And you may even learn where and how to find cool fossils in Kansas.
Other local leaders from the police and fire departments, the city of Ottawa and Franklin County will also be on hand to give reports.
The forum will be held at 10 this morning at Neosho County Community College.
