A group of men walked into Ottawa yesterday. It had been a long day. The group of 5 decided to walk across the country to raise money for the 16 families who lost a loved one in a mass shooting in Virginia Beach, Virginia in May. The group is known as VB Strong Coast to Coast. The team walks about 50 miles a day. Darrel Fisher is one of the walkers, he says the walk has restored their faith in humanity particularly here in Ottawa.
The group continues their trek this morning. They are leaving from the Econo Lodge and heading West on K-68 toward Paola. The next stop will be Harrisonville, Missouri.
