You may or may not know this, but Kansas has a state fossil. At the first Friday forum, fossil hunter Alan Dietrich, of Lawrence, says it took him a long time to get state officials to name a state fossil.
Dietrich has done excavations of dinosaurs in several states, including in Kansas and Montana.
