The city of Ottawa has formally opened the application procedure for downtown economic development services. They are soliciting requests for proposals, or RFP’s, from any group interested in performing such services. The city prefers downtown economic development activities be aligned with the principles of the National and Main Street programs although, the city commission will entertain other proposals that meet their goals and objections for downtown economic development activities.
Applicants are encouraged to explain why they want to be considered for providing downtown economic development services in the most creative and detailed manner possible. They stress it is important to clearly establish vision, qualifications, administrative abilities, partnering expertise, and techniques for developing a robust downtown economic development. The application process will begin on or about October 14th and are due no later than noon on November 1st.
