This week is fire prevention week and the Ottawa Fire Department wants everyone in Ottawa to know the importance of having a family fire and emergency plan at their house. Captain Dennis Nowatski says a well practiced plan could save your family’s life.
Home fires killed over 3,700 people in the United States last year. Most fires started in kitchens on the stove. Nowatski says knowing how to put out a fire in the kitchen can save your home.
