A high school volleyball match in Baldwin last week ended with the opposing team calling out the Baldwin team for “racially offensive” behavior. Both Piper and Baldwin City School districts are working together to find out what happened in Baldwin City High School’s gym Tuesday night. Some Baldwin City parents and students deny the allegations and say crowd members were actually making turkey-call sounds for a themed night. Some Piper parents disagree and say Baldwin students followed them to the bus and continued the harassment.

Baldwin City’s Superintendent Paul Dorathy says they are working with Piper and have made progress on the investigation so far, but they could not provide details about exactly what happened.
