The OHS Wall of Honor Banquet will be held tonight at OHS. One of this years inductees in the Ottawa High School Wall of Honor was known in high school to carry a camera with him everywhere he went. After getting his degree in photojournalism from Kansas Start University, he spent decades as one of the best photojournalist in the world covering many major events including the Oscars, final four, the Olympics. He was a leader in digital darkroom innovation. At Getty Images, he created innovative data transfer mechanisms from the photographer’s camera to the editor in less than a minute independent of the venue. Jim;s “How Can We Fix It Or Do It Better” attitude utilized his multiple talents building what was needed on a site. Jim died from a heart attack in January in Atlanta preparing for the Super Bowl. He didn’t live to see it, but his on-demand photo editing software was used for the first time. He graduated with the Ottawa High School class of 1984.
