Like it or not, the flu season is upon us and many people are trying to decide on whether to get the flu shot now or wait just a bit. The vaccine has been delayed just a bit because health officials were wanting to see which strain affected the most people in Australia before making the vaccine, delaying production. Franklin County Health Director Midge Ransom says the high dose this year has four strains, 2 for Influenza A and 2 for Influenza B.
She adds that since the flu virus easily mutates and changes every single year, health officials have to wait and see which strain is the most prevalent before manufacturing it.
