With the vote Monday night by downtown business owners united in a proposals for economic development on Main Street, there are still a lot of details to be worked out and pieces to be put in place when it comes to the proposal. Shawn Turner, of Turner Flowers says that the goal is that Main Street and the Chamber would remain independent buy operate with a written handshake agreement under one roof. Turner says there is a potential for more events.
He adds that Main Street would have a director answering to a Main Street board and a Chamber director operating under a Chamber board. Hopefully the two can work together to bring new and exciting events to downtown. The proposal is due to the city by November 1st.
