The USD 290 school district is looking at replacing the field surfaces at the Ottawa High School football fields and soccer fields with artificial turf. Ottawa is the only school in the Frontier League that still plays on grass. The decision hasn’t been finalized yet and Superintendent Dr. Ryan Cobbs says a lot of exploration still needs to be done.
He adds that the school board members as well as patron of USD 290 will be involved in the discussion. The board will take up further discussion on the issue in January.
