With the peak of the deer season right on top of us, more and more deer vehicle accidents are reported everyday. So far in October, Franklin County has recorded 38 such accidents and this isn’t even the peak month. Franklin County Sheriff’s Department says drivers need to be very aware both in town and outside of town and keep their eyes on the sides of the road.

They say drivers should be extra cautious on East 15th Street by the cemetery as deer are very frequent in that area. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the peak day for vehicle-deer accidents is November 13th, however, they urge everyone to continue to be cautious on the roads every day.
