Franklin County is hosting a three-day emergency management exercise in Ottawa this week to simulate the response to a major tornado strike on the city. It’s designed to test the capabilities of not only our county, but also others that respond to assist with the crisis. Franklin County Emergency Management Director Alan Radcliff says that drills like this come at a cost.
He adds that there will not be a large-scale movement of equipment or personnel on the exercise. Most will be simulated in the Emergency Operations Center, along with some training and demonstration on equipment.
