New research from the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety shows that young drivers are looking to start behind the wheel even earlier than before and teens here in Kansas can be licensed at younger ages. Shawn Steward of AAA Kansas says teens here in Kansas can be licensed at younger ages thanks to the graduated driver’s licensing program which can start at age 14 with an instruction permit.
He adds that the program has helped to increase safety habits though increased supervised driving, decreased exposure to high-risk driving situations and discussions about avoiding distracted driving.
