An Ottawa Police Officer is entering the retired life after a 20 year long career with the department. Lieutenant A.J. Schmidt specialized in domestic violence cases among many other types of crimes. Schmidt says while it may seem like domestic violence is on the increase, it’s probably more a matter of reporting.
Schmidt started with the Ottawa Police Department in April of 2000. He says he may do some work in insurance claims.
