A huge honor for the Ottawa Recreation Commission. They have been awarded the Better Sports for Kids Quality Program Provider Designation for 2019/2020. The ORC is only the 3rd organization in the state of Kansas to earn this honor.
The Better Sports for Kids Quality Program Provider Designation is a seal of commitment to quality and safety based on nationally accepted standards. Achieving this designation demonstrates that the ORC has undergone a review process and has shown a commitment to the children and families they serve.
Recreation Manager Brandon Stortz says they have been working on improving all aspects of the award.
There are only 101 recreation programs worldwide that have been awarded this distinction, three from Kansas. Shawnee County Parks and Recreation, Fort Riley Youth and Fitness and now Ottawa Recreation Commission.
