The start of the new school year has been a good one in Wellsville. Superintendent Ryan Bradbury says the number of students is up slightly over last year. They are at 817, compared to 814 a year ago. However he attributes the increase to an increase in numbers at the pre-k level. The pre-k program in Wellsville expanded this year. Bradbury says the program helps students get ready from actual school.

Bradbury added that they are expecting growth in the area over the next few years as several new businesses have come to the area and there has been an increase in new houses being built.
