November is National Alzheimer’s awareness month. When President Reagan recognized the disease in the 1980s, less than 2 million Americans had it. Now 1 in 10 Americans age 65 and older are experiencing the effects of Alzheimer’s. Experts say that number could triple in the next 30 years without any advancements in research. For more information on Alzheimer’s and how to care for a loved one with the disease, contact any extension office or talk to your personal physician.
