A huge day in Ottawa today, as veterans will be honored in many way today. It all starts at 9 this morning with special ceremonies at the War Memorial at 4th and Main. Then at 10:45 the biggest parade in Ottawa every year. After the parade, take the family to City Park and take a walk through the flags, check out the display, talk about the 197 crosses that memorialize all the soldiers in Franklin County who have died in action. Then, down to Forest Park for Civil War and World War II reenactments. The evening will come to a close with a very special ceremony, a flag retirement. Longtime Veterans Day organizer Sherry Wright.

Boy Scout Troop 77 will host the ceremony. If you have a flag you would like to retire, join them. You can retire it, or have a scout or veteran retire it properly for you.
