Nearly all of us have had a family member in the armed services sometime in our family history. For countless people, the military may have made them the person they are today. One of those men was admittedly lost in life, not really knowing where or what he wanted to do. Ottawa City Manager Richard Nienstedt says the day he enlisted in the armed service, his life changed.
Nienstedt served in the Air Force from 1971 to 1975 in Germany and other duty stations across Europe.
