The deadly crash on 56 Highway by Overbrook yesterday injured three people and left a young girl dead was caused by icy conditions on the road at the time. A vehicle driven by 43-year-old Kristin Edwards of Overbrook lost control and crossed the center line striking head on a vehicle driven by 52-year-old Terry Ralston of Scranton. The Kansas Highway Patrol says that a passenger in Ralston’s vehicle, 8-year-old Cassie Ralston was killed in the accident. Terry Ralston received minor injuries while Edwards and her passenger, 14-year-old Luke Edwards were taken to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka for undisclosed injuries. A third driver, who slid into the others after the collision, Kaylyn Watkins of Overbrook was not injured.
