With the peak of the deer season right on top of us, today actually, more and more deer-vehicle accidents are reported every day. In October, Franklin County recorded 52 such accidents and as of this morning there had already been 20 this month. Franklin County Undersheriff Rick Geist says drivers need to be very aware both in town and outside of town and keep their eyes on the sides of the road.

He adds drivers should be extra cautious on east 15th Street by the cemetery as deer are very frequent in that area. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the peak day for deer-vehicle accidents is today, however, they urge you to continue to be cautious on the roads.
