Garfield Elementary has a program called, “WIN Time,” standing for “What I Need Time.” The students get time to work on things they need to get done, or may need extra time with. Some do activities they may not have a chance to do otherwise. Principal Carman Schafer says one teacher came up with a unique idea. She says so far, the response has been all positive and the kids are proud of their work and want to do it more.
