The Franklin County area has a new mobile food pantry that serves dozens of families a week, providing all the ingredients for two meals. The operation is headquartered at Ottawa High School. OHS Principal Kelly Whitaker has more.

The delivery volunteers take the meals, packaged in gift bags to several locations for pick up by those in need. Hope Anthem Church, Sunflower Plaza, Cedar Square Apartments and the Richmond Community Center in Richmond. If you are in need and would like to have Mobile Connect Food Pantry prepare a meal bag delivered to you, or if you would like to volunteer your time or make a donation of food or money to support the program, call 785-222-0848 and get registered. You must call in each week to stay on the registry. Delivery is on Wednesday afternoons at 4.
