A name changer for a historic law firm in Ottawa. Finch Covington and Boyd will celebrate it’s 150th anniversary by reverting back to Harris, Kelsey Chartered. The name refers to the firms historical partners. Formed in 1870 by Alfred Benson who served as Ottawa’s Mayor County Attorney, as a state legislator, U.S. Senator, District Court Judge and eventually a Kansas Supreme Court Justice. A few years later, he brought in Fred Harris and moved the firm to the corner of second and Main where they still operate today. Blaine Finch gives us some further background.

Finch added that they wanted to return to their roots and honor the founders of the firm and celebrate their dedication to their clients and profession and alsos create a brand Ottawa can continue to rely on for decades to come.
