If you live in the country in Franklin County and next year want to do some burning, there will be a new way of getting a daily burn permit. Emergency Management director Alan Radcliff says it will be a simple process.
The daily permit is free. Radcliff says going to this system should cut down on rural fire districts making wasted emergency runs only to find out it’s a controlled burn and everything is under control. The new burn permit system goes into effect January 1st.
