A record number of people are expected to be on the roads this Thanksgiving. It is estimated that 55 million Americans will travel by car or truck at least 50 miles away from home. So if you have to be on the road, be very careful. Wednesday night is particularly dangerous to be on the road. Shawn Steward of Triple A Kansas tells us why.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, from 2012 to 2016, more than 800 people died nationwide in alcohol impaired driving crashes during the Thanksgiving holiday, making it the deadliest holiday on our roads. Designate a driver or call a ride sharing service if you plan to be drinking. Don’t drink and drive, the life you save, could be your own.
