The Miami County economic climate report is out. Overall the county has grown over the past 8 years by 2.7% with Spring Hill seeing the biggest growth, gaining 1,500 people. Louisburg gained 192, Osawatomie 181, Paola with 68, and Fontana with 8.
Other general numbers include an increase in the average single-family home prince was up 10% to $235,500 however, available housing has dropped over 3%. Building permits are also down 16% in the county over the past 8 years.
On a good note, the unemployment rate has dropped to 3.5%, that’s 5% lower over the same time period. And, the average weekly wages has increased from just under $600 to over $725 a week. We’ll have more information about individual communities in future newscasts.
