Another new type of school reform will likely be implemented in the Ottawa School District in about two years. It is something called a flex mod, and Ottawa High School Principal Kelley Whitaker and school Superintendent Dr. Ryan Cobbs says it’s an expansion of cyclone hour, where students are allowed to self-direct their lessons.
Cobbs says the Cyclone hour and other changes have already resulted in positive changes in students’ achievements, including a big drop in students who fail their classes.
