An accident on K-68 west of Pomona late yesterday morning injured two women from Quenemo. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a vehicle driven by 37-year-old Ashley Judd of Quenemo was stopped on K-68 eastbound waiting to make a left-hand turn. A vehicle driven by 31-year-old Amanda Lockhart of Quenemo was slowing to stop behind Judd. A vehicle driven by 48-year-old Denney Gillette was unable to stop and rear-ended Lockhart, pushing her into Judd’s vehicle. Gillette’s truck ended up in the ditch. Lockhart and a passenger in her Tahoe, 19-year-old Mercedes Engel were taken to Advent Health Ottawa for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. Everyone involved in the incident was wearing their seatbelts.
