The toll of massive flooding in Kansas is proving to be high for the agency that operates state parks. Reports indicate that the Kansas Department of Parks and Tourism will lose millions of dollars due to park closures, property damage and washed out park roads caused by the heavy rains and high water that began early in the spring. Kansas News Service Roger Heaton has more.

There are still areas of the state suffering from the impacts of flood waters and some state parks have organized community volunteer days, asking the public to come in and help with cleanup and repair.
