Recently a group of Ottawa high school students participated in a unique program. The students’ goal was to re-work Power Wheels battery powered pay cars for kids who are physically unable to operate them. USD 290 Superintendent Dr. Ryan Cobbs says the program shows what communities are capable of.
He added the event sparked joy and happiness for those children who got to experience the fun of Power Wheels, and for the parents who get to see their children experience something they were previously unable to experience, and the students who get to give back and do something special for others. The students involved were Jaya Worley, Noah Yancey, Tristian Kelly, Alex Chidster, Alex Kemns, Brittny Hornbuckle, Caden Louderman, Jaymilynne Whiddon, Quinton Stadler, Ian Stitt and Kayle Hamic.
