The City of Ottawa has put a lot of effort into blighted housing demolitions this year. In fact, Community Development director Wyndee Lee told the city commission they spent more than what was earmarked.
Lee has previously said that it’s always her hope that the owner would want to fix up the dilapidated house or other structure, but the city often has to take action when owners don’t respond to complaints or even when the owner can’t be located.
