The matter of whether contractor license fees are increasing or decreasing brought about some vigorous discussion during the Ottawa City Commission study session. Members of the community development staff said that some fees would be reduces, but at one point, commissioner Eric Crowley asked Charlotte Newkirk and department Director Wyndee Lee to explain where the fees were being reduced.
The contractor licensing fees are being reworked so that companies, rather than individuals are licensed. The matter is expected to come up again at next week’s commission study session.
