The Don Woodward Community Center building on east 3rd street in Ottawa has been subjected to two major flood events in the past year. The Ottawa Recreation Commission has leased the building for a long time, but have asked for release from the lease after the latest flood. The city of Ottawa may have a new use for it. City Manager Richard Nienstedt says the city is talking about giving the building new life
The city commission will discuss the idea at today’s study session. Other items on the agenda include an update from Franklin County Development Council director Paul Bean, a proximity park update, a winter weather update from Public Works director Michael Haeffele, a resolution defining and declaring city limits, an ordinance revising contractor licensing fees and more. The study session will be held this afternoon at 4 at City Hall. You are welcome to attend.
