The emergency shelter operated by Franklin County United Way was open for the first time this past weekend. United Way Executive Director Leigh Hanson says, they had one person register and stay, but being on a weekend, it was a tough time to get the word out. She relied on social media and many people shared the information. The shelter is open again tonight and Hanson says those needing shelter need to call quickly.
Again, the emergency shelter is open tonight. If you or someone you know needs shelter from the cold tonight, please call 785-418-2015 to get registered. You must call by 5 this afternoon.
