The snow and icy conditions have only yielded one injury accident in the county. Yesterday morning, 23-year-old Amber Gregory of Ottawa was Northbound on the 1700 block of Eisenhower when she lost control of her vehicle and struck a vehicle coming Southbound, driven by 67-year-old Carol Simmons of Vassar. She was transported to Advent Health Ottawa for treatment of her injuries. Gregory was cited for a basic speed violation. The Ottawa Police Department wants everyone to slow down all the time, particularly in snow or icy conditions. They remind the public that just because you have four wheel drive, doesn’t mean you have four wheel stop. Though city and county crews are working on the roads, City Manager Richard Neinstedt has a message for drivers.
