With the news of the United States and China agreeing on the first phase of a trade deal and China’s agreement to increase purchases of AG goods is good news for producers of the one export commodity most impacted by the deal, soybeans. Ed Bean of the U.S. Soybean Export Council says China is a big customer.
Even with the dispute, China has remained the top global customer for soybeans. He says continued efforts over the past few years by the soybean industry, new and positive relationships between Chinese buyers have been formed.
