A new online burn permit system for rural Franklin County residents has been approved by the Franklin County Commission. Emergency Management Director Alan Radcliff says it should cut down on a lot of wasted calls.
The new policy goes into effect January 1. People who do not have internet at home can come to the county planning department and obtain a 7-day burn permit, and need to call 229-3501 before you burn.
