The Franklin County United Way is looking for volunteers to help man their emergency shelter when it is open on extremely cold nights. Director Leigh Hanson says applying to be a volunteer is easy and the more volunteers they have, the more the shelter can open.
The shelter has been open three nights this week. So far there have been several people registered to stay at the shelter. Hanson is hoping that as the word gets out that it is available, more people in need will use the shelter. If you would like to volunteer at the shelter call her at 418-2015 for more information.
