Tonight, the Rockwood Acres neighborhood, in Ottawa will light up with thousands of luminaries, lining the street and driveways in a warm glow. It’s a tradition that goes back 50 plus years in the neighborhood on East 15th Street.

Coordinator of the event this year, Liza Jaworski says this year, they are collecting money and supplies for the United Way Emergency Shelter.

The event will start at 6 and run until about 9. The Rockwood neighborhood was built in the 1950s and has done the luminary event all but a few years since. Jaworski says people of all ages are involved and they are hoping for a big turnout, particularly with the nice weather.
